A True Master of his craftMeet Chef Axel Manríquez, the Executive Chef at Santiago, Chile’s Bristol Restaurant at the Plaza San Francisco, and a true culinary master recognized for his talents throughout Chile and around the world. Chef Manríquez studied Gastronomy at the INACAP Institute and later joined the gastronomic team of Hotel Plaza San Francisco in 1989. Manríquez also worked with “Les Toques Blanches” group, and directly with its president, Al Bachmann, learning Asian cuisine. |

Chef Manríquez has had the opportunity to perfect his culinary artistry learning many gastronomic secrets from Eric Ripert, Executive Chef from “Le Bernardin” restaurant in New York City, and with Jean Paul Bordeax, Executive Chef from the “Le Borgogñe” restaurant in Buenos Aires. Santiago, Chile chef Axel Manríquez also has much experience participating in important gastronomic fairs and competitions around the world including the England tour, organized by PROCHILE in 1996, at the Intercontinental London Hotel. In 2008 Axel Manríquez started leading a large working team, as the new Executive Chef of the Plaza San Francisco, and since then he has developed a particular culinary line based on Chilean products called “Sabores de Nuestra Tierra” giving our typical food a personal touch of distinction and sophistication. Achiga (Chilean’s Gastronomy National Association) has given Manríquez its Silver and Gold awards, for winning the most important competition in Chile. Additionally, for the past three years, he has participated in gastronomic events in Milan and Rome, which has provided him with a deep knowledge of Italian cuisine. |
